Scary Stories For Kids : Should You Tell Them?

Spooky season?? Yep! And that means it's also STORY SEASON! but should you tell scary stories to young kids?

With fall in full effect and Halloween just around the corner, this storyteller is in full *giddy* mode! There's all kinds of great folktales about harvest, cold weather blowing in, and of course... ghost stories!

But WHY tell ghost stories? Won't it be too... scary??

By design ghost stories are scary, but there's a reason why these stories have been told all over the world for thousands of years and why it continues to be its own genre.

Telling ghost folktales is a "safe rehearsal room" for life's big, scary unknowns.

The child (or grown up) goes into the imaginary realm of the story, faces down the monster, and comes out the other side of the story at "The End".*
