Fairy Tales On The Fairy Trail

Welcome Fairy Trail story explorers!

If you've sparkled and twirled and flown your way to this page, congratulations! The fairies would like to reward your excitement and care for their trail with three stories told by their spokeswoman: storyteller Rachael Harrington.

Click the videos below to see the stories. Then, bookmark this page so you can keep coming back to watch the videos. This page is not publicly available and is meant to be a gift from the fairies only to those who walked the Fairy trail. Thank you for not sharing widely.

The South Mountain Reservation Fairy Trail

Tucked within the South Mountain Reservation lies a magical stretch of trail where imagination takes flight and fairy homes peek out from tree roots, mossy stumps, and stone crevices. The SMR Fairy Trail, located along a half-mile section of the white-blazed Rahway Trail starting at Locust Grove in Millburn, New Jersey, is a whimsical destination that delights children and adults alike. The Fairy Trail is located at 197 Glen Ave in Millburn, NJ. The trail is free and open to all daily, from sun up to sun down. If you visit, please stay on the designated trail, admire the fairy houses without touching them, and help us preserve the magic by leaving no trace behind. Please email fairytrail@somocon.org if you would like to get involved!

South Mountain Conservancy

The South Mountain Conservancy serves as steward and advocate for the South Mountain Reservation. We work to preserve, protect and restore its ecology, natural beauty, and infrastructure through our volunteer programs, promoting sustainable use, informing public policy and community engagement. A volunteer-driven, non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation founded in March 2000, the Conservancy works in partnership with the Essex County Parks Department. Email info@somocon.org to become a member or volunteer!
